Meeting time and place: 8:00pm the 1st Tuesday of every month in the back building of the Post Home
after having dinner with the American Legion members at 7:15pm at a cost of $5.00 per person.

THE ADDITIONAL STRENGTH OF THE AMERICAN LEGION The American Legion Auxiliary has been around for over seventy-five years.

If members were asked what the auxiliary does, here is what they would say;

OUR PURPOSE:

  1. To defend and teach the principles of democracy
  2. To uphold the law of the land
  3. To foster patriotism
  4. To honor and serve our veterans
  5. To instill a sense of obligation to the community, state and nation
  6. To guard the basic freedoms of religion, expression and choice
  7. To support the work of the American Legion
  8. To continue our association with devotion of service to God and Country

WHO CAN JOIN?

YOU CAN JOIN THE AUXILIARY IF YOU ARE:

  • The grandmother, mother, wife, sister, daughter, granddaughter or great-granddaughter of a current member of THE AMERICAN LEGION
  • A female veteran who served during any of the conflicts listed on the application form
  • A member of THE AMERICAN LEGION (Yes, women veterans can join, in fact they can be members of both organizations)
  • The grandmother, mother, wife sister, daughter, granddaughter or great-granddaughter of a deceased veteran who served during any of the conflicts listed on the application form. (Eligibility also applies to step-relatives)
  • Eligibility Dates;

    World War I
    April 6, 1917 - November 11, 1918

    World War II
    December 7, 1941 - December 31, 1946

    Korean War
    June 25, 1950 - January 31, 1955

    Vietnam War
    February 28, 1961 - May 7, 1975

    Grenada/Lebanon
    August 24, 1989 - July 31, 1984

    Panama
    December 20, 1989 - January 31, 1990

    Persian Gulf War
    August 2, 1990 to date of cessation of hostilities as determined by the Government of the United States.

WE EDUCATE OUR CHILDREN FOR LEADERSHIP THROUGH GIRLS STATE, GIRLS NATION, VOLUNTEENS AND SCORES OF LOCAL AND NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS

WE ORGANIZE COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVES, LOCAL AND NATIONAL CONSERVATION EFFORTS, EMERGENCY AND DISASTER RELIEF WORLDWIDE, CHILD SAFETY ACTIVITIES AND TAKE LEGISLATIVE ACTION

WE HELP OUR OWN MEMBERS WITH EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE GRANTS AND HELP MILITARY SERVICE PERSONNEL AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH THE FAMILY ASSISTANCE NETWORK

WE CONTRIBUTE MILLIONS OF VOLUNTEER HOURS AND DONATE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO WORTHY CAUSES AROUND THE WORLD AND IN OUR OWN COMMUNITIES

THE AUXILIARY IS ALL THAT AND MUCH, MUCH MORE! AND WE ARE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE JUST LIKE YOU!
