    March 14, 2006 ---Legion Birthday
    Post 165 celebrated American Legion Birthday on Tuesday 14 March. Social at 6:30 PM, dinner at 7:00 PM. Our speaker was North Carolina Department Commander, Cary McMasters, left and Lonnie Hutchison, right, Post legionnaire of the year.

    Bottom left Norwood Covil presented a 60 year continious membership award.Jesse Lohman presented a certificate of appreciation for the erection of a marquee sign as an Eagle Scout project.

    December 9, 2006 ---Post member Ellis Wheeler, was honored to be Grand Marshal for the 2006 Burgaw Christmas Parade.

    December 14, 2006 ---Post member Ellis Wheeler, sixth from left, joined the Cival Air Patrol in Wilmington to participate in the Wreaths Across America Program. He placed the POW/MIA Wreath at the memorial on behalf of all veterans.

    Burgaw Police Captain Lisa Fields, Post 165 Law enforcement officer of the year was submitted to The American Legion Department of NC for consideration as Department Law Officer of the year. Captain Fields won 1st place and went to National and was 5th runner-up.
