Post 165 is collecting used cell phones to raise much-needed funds for our post programs.
There are many advantages for choosing a used cell phone fundraiser:

100% of the funds raised go to child and youth programs.
- The proper recycling of used cell phones and their accessories protects our environment.
- By donating your old cell phone, you may be eligible for a tax deduction.
There is nothing to buy and nothing to sell.
A collection box is conveniently located at the post home, 410 S. Wright St. or you may drop the used cell phone(s) at Southern Printing, 200 Dudley St., Burgaw. We have set a collection goal of at least 200 used cell phones by July 31, 2007.
Post 165 has partnered with ECO-CELL, a company which pays organizations for collecting used cell phones, batteries, and accessories. Through ECO-CELL’s innovative program, 70% of the phones collected will be used by first-time, low income users abroad or by selected local organizations, such as Battered Women’s Programs for emergency use (911 calls). ECO-CELL runs a strict NO LANDFILL Program! All items received by ECO-CELL, including batteries, accessories, and cell phones with no resale value, will be recycled using the best demonstrated technologies for recycling e-waste.
